The Mid-Atlantic Association of Museums (MAAM) dedicates its Building Museums™ Symposium to the process, promise, and pitfalls of planning and managing museum capital building projects. This symposium is for museum leaders, architects, planners, project managers, technical experts, and those who plan to implement new construction, renovation, preservation, or expansion projects for museums.

The Call for Proposals provides comprehensive information for submitting a session proposal to the MAAM Annual Conference. Proposals deadline is Monday, September 14, 2026, by 5 pm ET. The Committee consists of representatives from the MAAM board of directors, industry partners, MAAM members, and volunteers on the Planning Committee. The Program Committee will review session submissions in October-November 2026. After reviewing and developing the schedule for the conference, we will notify designated contacts for selected sessions by November 2026. The Program Committee reserves the right to request modifications to programs submitted by presenters.
