The Mid-Atlantic Association of Museums (MAAM) is a not for profit membership organization, founded in 1947. MAAM represents museums professionals, organizations, institutions and museum service providers, providing a forum to enhance the image of museums and educate individuals on an array of field specific study and programs. We chiefly represent and advocate for museum interests in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.

What does MAAM do?

We bring together the resources of the Mid-Atlantic region’s museum community and make them available to our members through conferences, symposia, and workshops in your neighborhood.

As a recognized regional association by the American Alliance of Museums (AAM)., MAAM is committed to supporting and promoting excellence, ethics, and accessibility in museum practices. Our mission is to spark dialogue among museum professionals to build sustainable and inclusive museums for their communities.

Why MAAM?

Membership with MAAM provides numerous benefits, including access to exclusive content, discounts for events like the Annual Conference and the Building Museums™ Symposium, and opportunities to connect with museum professionals. MAAM is the perfect size to find community among peers. Whether you are an individual, institutions, or corporate partner, MAAM provides resources and support to help you thrive in the museum field.
