6 MarChesapeake Studies conference–registration now open
Registration is now open for the inaugural Chesapeake Studies conference, Casting a Wide Net, an interdisciplinary, scholarly exploration of the Chesapeake and Delmarva region, on June 5-7. Sponsored by Salisbury University, the conference will bring together scholars, researchers, students, and interested non-academics from diverse disciplinary perspectives, including the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. This is intended to be the first in a continuing series of conferences to promote the scholarly study of the region.
You can find more information about the schedule and a link to the registration form at: https://www.chesapeakestudies.org/
Registration is open through May 28, but please sign up by March 31 to get the early-bird rate. There is information about hotels at the site above; attendees also may stay in the dorms at a relatively low cost, but be aware they are spartan. The Thursday night crab feast is optional and has a separate fee; if you want to bring family members or other traveling companions, feel free to sign them up. The same goes for the optional Friday field trips; there is a limit of four people per registration for those, due to limited seating on the buses.
