Call for Proposals: Long Island Museum Conference 2026

The Mid-Atlantic Association of Museums is pleased to share the following opportunity from the Long Island Museum Association (LIMA) and Long Island Historical Societies (LIHS).

The organizations are accepting proposals for their inaugural Long Island Museum Conference, taking place Monday, December 7, 2026, at the Long Island Children’s Museum in Garden City, New York. This year’s theme, From Collection to Connection, focuses on how museums use collections to foster learning, conversation, and community engagement.

Organizers are seeking practical sessions relevant to museums of all sizes. Suggested topics include collections, exhibitions, education, fundraising, leadership, marketing, technology, community partnerships, and museum operations. Session formats include panels, roundtables, workshops, skill shares, and 10-minute Quick Takes.
