Field Wide Letter

As part of AAM’s ongoing advocacy to protect and strengthen funding across agencies and programs, we have launched a field-wide letter to Congressional leadership calling for continued investment in museums. We invite your organization to join the letter and ask that you share it with your members.

This is for museums of all types, associations, and companies who work with museums to sign onto the letter.  The letter is not for individuals to sign on.

We would like to get as strong a showing as possible from all 50 states plus a strong collection of state, regional, and national organizations.

Thank you to those who have already signed your organizations onto the letter and shared it with your membership.  I have posted the current list of signers (as of yesterday 3/23) onto the website so you can see the signers from your state, region, or membership.  I will be updating the list of signers on the website twice a week until we close the letter.

View the letter and form to sign your organization on: https://www.aam-us.org/2026/03/19/support-museum-funding-field-wide-sign-on-letter/

House Dear Colleague Letter

The House Dear Colleague Letter in support of the Office of Museum Services at IMLS closed on March 16.  The letter ended with 133 members of the House signed onto the letter.  This is 10 more than last year.  I’ve attached the letter for your information.

Senate Dear Colleague Letter

The Senate Dear Colleague Letter began circulating late last week by Senator Gillibrand’s office.  The letter will remain open through Friday, April 17 for Senators to sign onto the letter.
