Pittsburgh, PA — Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens announces the expansion of its popular Sustainability Workshops with the newest session to be held Oct. 9 – 10, guiding organizational leaders in determining “What Does Good Look Like? Getting the Green Building You Want.”
Attendees will gain firsthand knowledge and actionable insights from the only team to achieve Living Building Challenge, LEED, WELL and SITES certifications in one project in building the Center for Sustainable Landscapes. This engaging, in-depth leadership event will be held at one of the greenest buildings in the world, Phipps’ Center for Sustainable Landscapes, with opening reception on Tues., Oct. 9 (6 – 8 p.m.) and workshop on Wed., Oct. 10 (8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.). Here’s what past attendees have said about Phipps’ Sustainability Workshop:
“It was an eye-opening experience. You don’t see very many organizations that know what they want included in a construction project, but Phipps does. Phipps has set their standards from design, construction, equipment, materials and expectations. They have set the bar.” — Ronald Dulceak, head of facilities
“The staff of Phipps made us all feel entirely welcome and nurtured our thought process about approaching and envisioning green buildings. The group of attendees was remarkably diverse, both in their backgrounds and interests, making the forum much richer. I would highly recommend that others attend future symposiums.” — Bill Mills, executive director
Highlighted in Phipps’ 2018 Five-Point Plan, Phipps has bolstered its sustainability programs and events in response to increased community interest in sustainable practices, providing exciting new ways to engage and take action.
