Sector-Wide Response to Executive Order on Federal Agencies

In response to the latest Executive Order from the White House, Continuing the Reduction of Federal Bureaucracy, which calls for the dismantling of seven agencies—including IMLS—within seven days, here is an update on AAM’s response.

AAM has been in communication with coalition partners, agency contacts, and champions on Capitol Hill to gather information and assess the situation. They are closely monitoring developments and implementing a strategic response, including:

• Immediate Public Messaging: AAM has issued a statement via social media, informing the field that a coordinated advocacy campaign will launch.
• Email Advocacy Campaign: AAMe will launch an email campaign with specific calls to action, urging the field to contact their federal and state legislators.
• Legislative Outreach: With Congress in recess next week, AAM will remind the field to engage directly with legislators and their district offices.
