The National Conference on Cultural Property Protection – September 22-24, 2025

The National Conference on Cultural Property Protection (NCCPP), hosted annually by the Smithsonian Institution, brings together more than 150 professionals in the operational and physical security field to discuss insider threat and employee accountability, visitor experience, international affairs, and activism. Each year, NCCPP has global representation from museums and cultural property sites, universities and colleges, libraries, and security agencies.

This year, NCCPP will take place in Washington, DC, from September 22–24, 2025, and the theme Leveraging Partnerships: Collaborative Approaches to Cultural Property Protection will focus on the power of shared expertise and on-the-ground collaboration. The conference offers two days of presentations and panel discussions, and one day of site-visits to local museums and cultural facilities.

For the first time, we are proud to offer scholarships to up to five attendees at our 2025 conference to make NCCPP as inclusive as possible. We hope this will welcome emerging professionals, students, and staff from smaller institutions or those with limited resources into our growing network. Applications are due July 28, 2025.
